My second boat was a 23′ Venture MacGregor. It seemed huge the first time I stepped aboard. I found it at in Kansas and sailed it on Lake Perry. It was cutter rigged meaning it had 2 head sails and I loved the boat. I became enamored with cutters and eventually bought 3 Island Packets, all cutter rigged.
The first time I took it out there was a lot of wind so I decided to leave it in the parking lot and go get a meal. When we came back, it was gone! The wind had blown the bow around. I had neglected to chock the wheels of the trailer and it rolled across the parking lot barely missing a parked car. The curb stopped it or it would have rolled into the lake. I guess it really wanted to get in the water!
