We dodged a storm the next day but made it to Ft. Lauderdale in fine shape. Rob Wire took a rental car one way back. Tom Fitch and I ate dinner on Las Olas and stayed on the boat on the New River in downtown FLL
We motored back down the New River, had dinner at the 15th St. Fisheries, and motored to the Dania cutoff where we spent the night listening to Jets take off. We got up at 4:00 am and went to sea to cross the stream. There was so little wind and what there was was on the nose. We were going directly into the Gulf Stream so the best we could do was 3.5 kn. It took us 12 hours to get to Bimini, and hour for me to clear customs, and another hour to anchor in front of the Hilton.
e had dinner and went to bed. The next day we motored around to a beach on the ocean side. It was calm and we dinghied in. The water was like gin and the shallow sand bottom gave it a robin’s egg blue color
